Meet Dr. Schlesinger!
August 05 , 2020Dr. Todd E Schlesinger is a Board Certified Dermatologist, Dermasuergeon, and Cosmetic Dermatologist. He is also a Clinical Research Investigator and Pharmaceutical Consultant. On top of his outstanding appointments to prestigious dermatology societies such as the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Dr. Schlesinger serves as a board member or editor for a variety of research-based journals and pharmaceutical companies. He is on the editorial board for the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology and the SkinMed Journal. Also, he is on the board of advisors for the cutting-edge company Remedly.com, a San Francisco based start-up that builds medical software. Using his experiences in the radio industry from his younger years, Dr. Schlesinger is a host on Practically Speaking, a podcast series. Here, he shares information about the latest innovations in dermatology.
The Clinical Research Center of the Carolinas has seen an influx of clinical trials over the past few years, spearheaded by Dr. Schlesinger. Some recent studies are sponsored by large pharmaceutical brands such as Galderma, Pfizer, Allergan, Novartis, and Boehringer Ingelheim. He is extremely meticulous in his work to ensure that each and every study runs smoothly, safely, and effectively.
It is not uncommon to see Dr. Schlesinger on a trip (not during COVID-19, of course!) around the country or to another country where he attends conferences to give keynotes and lectures. Interesting destinations include Dubai, Barcelona, Copenhagen, and the US Virgin Islands. He speaks on topics such as acne scarring, fat reduction, dermal filler, and laser technology. Nearly every topic from Dr. Schlesinger’s lectures are at the forefront of dermatological research and are of major importance for advancing medicine.
So, what does Dr. Schlesinger do with his free time, if he has any? He frequently exercises with cycling, running, or indoor rowing. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and going on the boat to enjoy our beautiful Lowcountry!
